Feeling instant connection with a dog is a great experience; that’s what happened when I first saw Cooper. He was a rescue in downtown Los Angeles and I was able to rescue him the day I saw him. Cooper was in a very bad way. He was sick and apparently on the streets for quite awhile. For some reason, even Cooper had a tough time, he was a happy and adventurous as I was – that how I know we were meant to be forever buddies.. It is an absolute joyful and pleasant experience for me to be with him for 8 years. Running, swimming, surfing… these are the things that made us even closer. Like me, a furry friend who has full of energy and loves water and the ocean so much, was rare for me.
Cooper knows quickly learned “stop” and “sit” commands and now would never get up from until I tell him to do so. He is sitting on the rocks and watching me surf. This is his favorite passtime because he is able to keep his eyes on me as I surf. I had an injury when I slammed in a rock and, was told that there was fluid loss in my kneecap. For a long time, I was unable to do the most important activities, such as surfing, the one joy I experience that I love. I was spending time with Cooper at home, and both of us got bored. I knew the activities he liked and I was looking forward to walking and running on the beach with him. He stayed with me whole time until I got. When I started to recover, even though the tiredness in my legs was still there, I could see that Cooper was calling me out. I wish you could have seen our expressions of excitement when we started running for the first time after a long time. Honestly, we are inseparable now. Cooper is so awesome for bringing my life and excitement back to me.
