What can I say about my Milo? We picked up this sweet beautiful puppy, with blonde fur and big blue eyes. How appropriate that he we rescued him in Los Angeles, CA. We were so excited when we brought him home. We landed on the name Milo and this adorable little boy was our new angel.

…… Until all hell broke loose. We realize how naïve we were with this little mischievous fur-ball. He never lived with any other dogs, therefore, he had no boundaries. My other dog Fredrick was four years old when we brought home Milo. Fredrick was pissed. Frederick was a rescue from Houston,Texas, and he was fostered with all of his siblings at the beginning of his life. Milo had none of that. He was boundary-less. We didn’t realize the trouble we were in, however, Frederick did. We could read it all over his face. Milo was filled with the spirit that we had never seen before. He was such a young puppy when we brought him home that we truly were having to teach him how to be amongst humans and another dog. I work at home, so I thought this would be a piece of cake. I found myself being a full-time mom for the first time ever at 28 years old. I would run around on my headset, talking with colleagues in New York while chasing Milo around our place, hoping that he would let go of whatever he was chewing, and stealing off of the countertops. Milo locked us out of our place one afternoon and we had to climb a 20 foot ladder to get onto the deck. He and Fredrick were so happy to see us when we finally got in!

Milo is just the happiest he could ever be, happier than any human I have ever met. I can not imagine how in love I have fallen. Because I still work remotely at home, we are inseparable. He has brought out such a patient, maternal and nurturing side of me. I understand what it means to be a loving firm parent. Fredrick is the all pleasing and loving first child and Milo is the challenging and oh so loving, second child. Needless to say, Fredrick has learned to accept his new sibling.
